Block Paving Cleaning

Most of the enquiries we receive are to clean and seal the many types of block paving that have been laid across an area from Liverpool in Merseyside to Preston in Lancashire.

Because so much block paving has been laid in the last 30-40 years, ongoing maintenance is always an ongoing procedure. It is usually carried out in 3 easy to follow steps as outlined below:-

Step 1. The block paving is sprayed with fungicidal wash/weedkiller to kill off any moss, algae or weeds that may be present in the joints of the paving. The block is then cleaned useing a proffesional high powered pressure washer.

Step 2. Once the block paving is completely dry we then brush new kiln dried sand into the joints to help stabilise the blocks.

Step 3. We then seal the block paving with multiple coats of Smartseal block paving sealer. Once the block paving sealant is dry, it will help to protect the surface of the block paving and slow down any future loss of colour. The sand in the joints will also take on a 'cement like' texture to restrict the future growth of weeds.
