Block Paving Cleaning

Most of the enquiries we receive are to clean and seal the many types of block paving that have been laid across Liverpool, Southport and the Merseyside / lancashire region.

Because so much block paving has been laid in the last 30-40 years, ongoing maintenance is always an ongoing procedure. It is usuallly carried out in 3 easy to follow steps as outlined below:-

Step 1. The block paving is sprayed with fungicidal wash/weedkiller ( usually 5-7 days before any cleaning takes place) to kill off any moss, algae or weeds that may be present in the joints of the paving.

Step 2. Once the block paving is completly dry we then brush new kiln dried sand into the joints to help stabilise the blocks.

Step 3. We then seal the block paving with multiple coats of Smartseal block paving sealer. Once the block paving sealant is dry, it will help to protect the surface of the block paving and slow down any future loss of colour. The sand in the joints will also take on a 'cement like' texture to restrict the future growth of weeds.

If you live near Southport or Liverpool and have a block paved driveway or patio that requires cleaning and sealing please call 08000 933 267 or 07973 216502 or complete our online enquiry form.
